First of all, the bakery and meat departments are ON POINT! Soooo good! I'm not going to lie, it would probably be helpful to know at least some Spanish as this place is an authentic Mercado. If you're from the West:Southwest, it's not like a Mariana's - much smaller. However, for where we live, this is great! The fully cooked chickens are DELICIOUS! Not a lot of other products available, go somewhere else for your produce. Meat, bakery, food made to order (great tacos) - go here!! Find a younger worker if you only speak English. They are very helpful and all seem completely bilingual. That being said, everyone there is very nice, they are just so busy that they can't spend much time on each individual person. Go on a weekday during the day if you need more help.

Mercadito 2 is bigger than the the first Mercadito store on Muirs Chapel. The parking lot seems to always be packed. Sometimes I get the whole chicken w fried beans to feed my family dinner on those days I don't have energy to make a homemade meal. The tacos are excellent! They also offer a variety of pastries, bread and sweets. If I'm not mistaken, they also sell handmade corn tortillas. The staff is efficient and kind.

Don't come here unless you're looking for generous portions and authentic Mexican fare. Their carnitas are outstanding and they load the tacos, quesadillas and tortas with tons of meat. Also has a cute bakery and market, as well as a well stocked butcher counter & a section with every kind of dried pepper you can imagine.

I was on my way to a similar Mexican grocery/taco store that a respected Yelper raves about and certainly had my taste buds on alert. By accident, I typed in the wrong location causing me to pull into this place instead. Thank goodness I did as this place is off the charts, da bomb, ridiculous, Bammm, what else??!!! Extremely crowded on a Saturday morning around 11am, patrons packed to the door, nowhere to stand, and a incredibly hard time understanding any English whatsoever. That all equals to being authentically superb! Sopes and corn tortillas are hand patted and screams of a impending explosion of taco goodness! We ordered a pollo sope which came of average size, but loaded with chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato slice, and a avocado slice. Perfect! Ordering two sets of tacos (set=3), we went with three Asada and three pork. The tacos are single layered with the homemade tortillas and loaded with meat, onions, and cilantro! I must say that the steak is life changing! A good cut of steak that's marinated and cooked to tenderness and a slight seared texture on the outer edges! This taco is without question a standard bearer in this area. The language barrier is real here, even with a slight knowledge of Spanish you'll have issues ordering, but just give these guys a try!

This place has it all. Fresh tortillas, fresh pastries still hot from the oven, fresh tamales, produce, a meat market, and a restaurant. We ordered tacos and gorditas. They were awesome! Try the tacos "con todo" and they will add avocado, lettuce, tomato and cheese to the standard cilantro and onions. The meats are well seasoned, tortillas are super fresh and portions are hearty. This place was packed, the kitchen was bustling with 6 ladies preparing the food, men cutting meats in the bakery, and full bread racks of fresh breads and pastries filled the air with wonderful aromas. They have plenty of English speaking staff, although the clientele is nearly all Hispanic. There were always 10-20 people in line at all times and finding a table can be a challenge. For the pastries, cookies and churros, just grab a pizza tray and a pair of tongs and they will bag it for you at the checkout. Their health grade is a 98.5. Great place for great Mexican food and ingredients, plus some fun snacks to take home.

This is a Mexican grocery store, bakery, butcher & grill all in one place, just like their location on Muirs Chapel Rd. The storefront faces Gate City Blvd, but it sets way back off the roadway & the print on the sign is very small so it is very difficult to see it. The driveway is right beside a Latino Credit Union, it's in a business center with a bunch of other shops, you can also enter from Farmington Dr. As soon as you walk in you are in the grill area, the cash register & counter are on the left & a few booths on the right along with the drink coolers filled with various Mexican soda pops & brewskis against the wall, just past the grill section is the butcher counter & grocery section and the cases full of the baked goods are along the very back wall. They have bags of the little cracklin type pork skins at the meat counter that are fried in house, I picked up a bag & they are awesome. There is a menu board above the counter at the grill with a few items listed, but the full menu is at the cash register taped to the window. Everything is made fresh, you can see the food being cooked from the seating area. I've only had tacos on my visits & they all were outstanding. Homemade corn tortillas slam packed with whatever meat you choose, topped with onions & cilantro, served with a grilled onion, grilled jalapeno & lemon wedges along with the house made red & green sauces. The chorizo is awesome, big flavor and not greeezy, the Al Pastor, Asada & Chicken are all great too. This is an outstanding place to get some authentic Mexican goods, It'll definitely be a regular stop for me.
